Above & Beyond Catering began with Chef Anthony’s love of food, cultivated on his grandparents’ farm in Georgia. In the mornings, he would pick fresh vegetables in the garden before helping his florist grandmother with floral arrangements in the barn. At dinner, though, his love of food truly bloomed as he cooked in the kitchen with his family’s recipes.
His passion for excellent cuisine drove every step of his career, so he knew that in order to prepare the food he wanted and work for a business he was proud of, he would need to create his own catering company.
When his wife and co-owner Anna Intertas-Barr joined in 2007, she utilized her training as a pastry chef and crafted our desserts. After time, she realized her work ethic in the office and dedication to clients were her strengths and took over the front-end of the business, overseeing all departments and assisting with sales, administrative tasks and marketing efforts. Anna's determination to provide the bustling San Francisco area with simple ordering and delicious catering is crucial to our operations.
Since our inception in 2005, we’ve worked hard to sustain those values, keeping our entrepreneurial spirit and our love of high-quality ingredients and menus in every part of what we do. Though we trace our roots to comforting Southern dishes, we pride ourselves on drawing inspiration from across the globe and transforming that on a plate.
